Criminal defense marketing for Middlesex County.

Middlesex County is the biggest county in Massachusetts: 54 cities and towns and about 1.6 million people. Twelve district courts run from Cambridge and Somerville out to Lowell and Ayer. It is one slice of the larger Metro Boston and Eastern Mass market, with its own courthouses. This page is a first draft. I will keep adding to it.

Where I draw Middlesex County

One county, one page. Middlesex County has 54 cities and towns and 1,632,002 people in the 2020 Census. Twelve courts hear its district-level criminal cases: Lowell, Malden, Cambridge, Framingham, Woburn, Waltham, Ayer, Somerville, Marlborough, Concord, Natick, and Newton.

Two things trip people up. Cambridge District Court and Malden District Court both sit at 4040 Mystic Valley Parkway in Medford. And Natick District Court sits in the Framingham courthouse at 600 Concord Street. So the name on the court is not always the town where you park.

Newton has the lowest, about 6 per 1,000.

Caseload figures are new criminal case filings for FY2025 from the Massachusetts Trial Court criminal case data, the same figures shown on my Massachusetts page. Population is from the 2020 Census, added up by town. Filings are counted where the case was filed, not where the defendant lives. Counts change, so confirm before relying on them.
