Criminal defense marketing for Norfolk County.
Norfolk County runs south and west of Boston: Quincy, Dedham, Stoughton, Wrentham, and Brookline. Five district courts, 28 towns, about 726,000 people. It is one slice of the larger Metro Boston and Eastern Mass market, with its own courthouses. This page is a stub. I'll add more as I build it out.

One county, one page. Norfolk County has 28 cities and towns and 725,981 people in the 2020 Census. Five courts hear its district-level criminal cases: Quincy, Dedham, Wrentham, Stoughton, and Brookline.
One town is the odd one out. Bellingham (population 16,945) is in Norfolk County, but its cases go to Milford District Court, which is a Worcester County court. So the five courts below cover 27 towns and 709,036 people.
The Norfolk County courts
Court list checked against Mass.gov and G.L. c. 218, § 1, October 2026.
District Courts
- Quincy District Court — the District Court of East Norfolk, and the busiest court in the county.
- Wrentham District Court — the District Court of Western Norfolk.
- Dedham District Court — the District Court of Northern Norfolk.
- Stoughton District Court — the District Court of Southern Norfolk.
- Brookline Municipal Court — one town, one court.
Above district level
- Norfolk County Superior Court — in Dedham.
- Milford District Court — not a Norfolk County court, but it hears Bellingham cases.
Quincy is the busiest court here by a wide margin, with more than twice the filings of Wrentham or Dedham. Together the five courts had 9,787 criminal filings in FY2025, about 7% of the District Court criminal filings statewide. That works out to about 13.8 filings per 1,000 residents. Stoughton is the smallest of the four district courts but has the highest rate. Norfolk County Superior Court added 482 more, about 7% of the statewide Superior Court total.
Caseload figures are new criminal case filings for FY2025 from the Trial Court year-end case filings data set. Population is from the 2020 Census. Filings are counted where the case was filed, not where the defendant lives. Counts change, so confirm before relying on them.
