Vermont • White River Junction • Burlington

Vermont starts, for me, with a return to White River Junction.

I have been to White River Junction three times this year: on the way to Burlington, on the way back, and once as a separate trip. A place you keep returning to gives you more to work with than a state name on a service-area list.

The Hotel Coolidge connection

I stayed at the Hotel Coolidge. It was also where I stayed the night after my honeymoon. Returning this year was both practical and personal: somewhere to stay, and somewhere with a place in my own history.

That is the beginning of my Vermont page. No sweeping declaration that I have personally mastered every town, mountain, and maple-related commercial enterprise in the state. A hotel I returned to. Three visits. An actual connection.

And there is a courthouse

The Vermont Judiciary lists the Windsor Criminal Division at 82 Railroad Row in White River Junction. For current location and contact information, use the official court listing.

For a former criminal defense lawyer, that puts another layer on the town. A place can be a stop on the way to Burlington, a hotel connected to a marriage, and a place where somebody else is having the most consequential morning of their life.

That is an observation about the town, not a claim that I have practiced in this court. My work here is marketing and consulting for criminal defense lawyers.

What I bring to a Vermont firm

I have run a criminal defense practice. I have hired people, supervised associates, and watched compensation change which calls get returned. Those experiences shape the questions I ask about a firm’s website and intake.

Can a prospective client understand what you handle? Does the page answer the question that brought them there? Does somebody respond when they call? Are you building a recognizable body of work around the communities and courts that actually matter to your practice?

A Vermont lawyer supplies the local practice knowledge. I bring the experience of operating a defense business and turning specific knowledge into material people can find, understand, and remember.

A page with somewhere to go

I expect to revisit Vermont roughly every month or two. White River Junction and Burlington give this page its starting geography. Further visits, observations, and videos can add detail as I go.

That is also a useful way for a firm to approach its website. Start with the real material you have. Give it a home. Add the next useful piece when you have something specific to contribute.

A modest page with a real story is a better foundation than five impressive paragraphs about “serving the entire region” that could have been written without leaving the office.
